UWM Ministry Path - Admission's Application Process

Prerequisites to apply to this Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute's Ministry Path now are:

  1. Completion of eighteen (18) specific core SEE classes (see below)
  2. A Bachelor Degree or approved Academic Demonstration, and
  3. Internet and email use.
  4. Two years of increasing leadership in a Unity Church is strongly recommended.

If you meet these prerequisites you may download the application materials after January 15, 2019.

Our upcoming Admissions is scheduled for August 28-31, 2017.

Applicants for this ministry path will be considered for admission based on the Admissions Teams' assessment of their:

  •    Communication
  •    Leadership
  •    Maturity
  •    Empathy and Nurturing
  •    Decision Making, and
  •    Unity knowledge, including understanding and application of the key concepts from the 12 core SEE classes.

Currently there are 18 prerequisite Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) courses for the ordination path.

Metaphysics 4
Unity Foundations (new combined course)
Overview: Hebrew Scriptures
Overview: Christian Scriptures
Bible Interpretation: Hebrew Scriptures
Bible Interpretation: Acts to Revelation
The Christ
Jesus Teachings
12 Powers
Meditation Practices
Self-Awareness (new course)
History of New Thought and Unity (new combined course)
Additional SEE Courses NOT required for application to the ministry path, but are highly recommended
Conversation Skills (new course)
Self-Care (new course)
I of the Storm
Discerning Your Purpose (new course)
These courses can be taken in the following ways:
1)      Online courses will be offered by Unity Worldwide Ministries in four terms per year, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

2)      Taught by any Unity Minister or Licensed Unity Teacher through a local Unity Ministry

All core SEE courses will be available online. The new Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute will be adding SEE courses to their online schedule. The online SEE schedule will permit completion of these required classes at a rate that best fits the needs of each spiritual seeker. Other information about the new Admissions Application Process:

  • In January of 2018 the number of minimum SEE prerequisites is increasing from 12 to 18.
  • Typically the interview week is the last week of August.
  • This ministry ordination path currently requires two applications.
  • Applicants should not make major life changes until they have been admitted to the ordination path.
  • An increase in application fees may also be coming to help defray the costs of the more extensive assessment process.
