BE as an active state of awareness arises out of Spiritual and Emotional Maturity.  And as an active state of awareness it is a metaphor for the  understanding of that state of awareness!

BE is a state of awareness where seeking stops   ~ and master action is initiated ~ as a state of Take No Thought ~  because now I BE this skill or energy in dynamic action.  It lives in every fiber of my being and thus, you are comfortable,  and can Dance at the Edge of Mystery in all you do. For when you BE  a Principle or Skill or Energy in action ~ you engage it deliberately and without fear of doing it wrong.

Description: Behind Social Justice:

As social justice learners, practitioners and leaders, there is always a wealth of information in the news, in our institutions and in our communities regarding current issues related to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender, disability, age, or any other protected class that we must evaluate on a professional and likely a personal level.  As we analyze and internalize these stories, it is important to understand the context and history that created the systems in which we all participate.  Behind Social Justice will look at the history of coming law, the legislature and modern court cases that have built the social structures in which we live in the US.

Description:
Selfhood is a complex topic that humans have attempted to understand throughout our history.  What exactly does it mean to be a self?  How we answer this question impacts the way we understand life and how we interact in the world.  In her book, The Space Between Us, Betty Pries, explores 3 aspects of self which she collectively calls the Architecture of Selfhood: the descriptive self, the defended self, and the deeper self.  The descriptive self is the face given to us at birth and is comprised of our characteristics, strengths and limitations, and our history/experiences.  The defended self is created to protect ourselves.  It is the mask we wear and is the self we most often inhabit in our interactions with the world.  It lies between our descriptive self and our deeper self.  The deeper self is analogous to Unity’s concept of the Christ within.

This interactive workshop explores the 3 aspects of self, how these selves interact, and includes skills and practices for releasing our attachment to the defended self and showing up more authentically in the world.
