Recently, we have seen an increasing interest among Unity leaders to combine our spiritual principles with nonviolent social action. The most important question is, how to begin organizing and implementing a program that meets the needs of our spiritual communities and stays within the legal boundaries of our not-for-profit status. One of the most effective ways to address these issues is to form a spiritual action team. This workshop discusses:
  • How a spiritual action team can benefit our ministries and enhance our relevance in the community.
  • How to operate within the framework of our not-for-profit guidelines as established by the IRS.
  • How to establish a history of advocacy.
  • Examples of different models of community engagement
