Global Assistance Specialist
Debbie Allen is a licensed Unity teacher (2003) and coordinates ministries wishing to join the Unity Identity Program (branding). She works in various circles here at the central office in such areas as education, development, Unity People’s Convention and accounting. She has been serving at the central office since 1997 and loves working with the field. Debbie is also trained by Edwene Gaines as a Master Prosperity Teacher.
Denise is serving as a part-time administrative assistant in the Member Services area. Due to our commitment to a team approach, she provides support to all areas of Member Services, but her primary focus will be Credentialing. Denise is also responsible for recording Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Unity ministers and licensed teachers.
Executive Board of Trustees Coordinator
Cathy works as the UWM Board of Trustees coordinator and in service to the President/CEO. She also works with the following ministry teams: Leadership Recruitment and Development Team, Standards, Bylaws, ERS Chairs, Judicatory Reps, Regional Advisory Council, and various task teams. Some of her other duties include updating, revising, and consulting with field constituents regarding bylaws, church policies, and the Ethics Review System (ERS) process; and also maintaining the UWM policy manual and bylaws.
IYOU Event Agent
Julie is contracted as our IYOU Event Agent, focusing on the annual IYOU (International Youth of Unity) Event held each summer for our teens. She has served as a YOU sponsor for 20 years at Unity Northwest Church, Des Plaines, Ill., and at Unity in Chicago, Ill. Her experiences include working closely with YOUers in planning and organizing many YOU retreats, where she encourages and supports the teens in developing their leadership skills. She has served as a Head Sponsor at more than 25 international, regional, and sub-regional YOU events, rallies, and retreats.
Ministry Leadership Coordinator
Rev. Doug is a ministry companion. He assists communities as they navigate the many facets of healthy organizational change and transition; a much-needed specialty area for communities today. Doug is a Certified Transition Specialist, SQ Coach and leader for more than 20 years; he has extensive experience in organizational development, education, mediating agreements, and process consulting.
Rev. Doug serves our movement by establishing and maintaining healthy connections and communication with ministers, spiritual leaders, boards, and ministries through personalized consulting and pastoral support. He is also a faculty member for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute and teaches Discerning Your Purpose which he created after years as a personal coach, trainer, and mentor to many on the path of self-discovery and empowerment.
Director of Education
Deborah is an ordained Unity minister (2006) and licensed Unity teacher. She oversees programs and services involving spiritual education for all ages, including Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute, leadership development, and worldwide support. Deborah is responsible for the development of UWM's Leadership Guides.
As the part-time assistant registrar, Rachel assists the registrar of Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute in the entering of course and grade information for both online and Unity field courses. She also supports students and instructors with user names and passwords.
Registrar, Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute
Chris supports Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute's students and faculty in both the SEE and Ministerial & Religious Studies programs. She supports student's enrolling in UWSI, registering them for courses, providing transcripts and graduation documents. Chris also supports instructors (online and in the field) with registering their classes, collecting grades, etc.
Rev. Shad Groverland was born and raised in Unity, learning Unity’s principles from his parents Rev. Jack and Norma Groverland. His first passion was music production, which led him to a 25-year career in sound production and management. He was then called to ministry, graduated from the Unity Urban Ministerial School, and was ordained in 2016. He served Unity of Las Vegas, Nevada, for five years before returning home to Unity of Boulder, Colorado, to co-minister with his sister, Syntysche, and father, Jack.
Rev. Shad’s Unity experience is vast and long-term. He has served as youth director, board trustee, youth camp counselor, youth and family team leader, and NGU (Next Generation Unity) minister advisor. In 2018, he was appointed to the UWM Board of Trustees, and the convention body confirmed the appointment in 2019. He was elected secretary of the Board in 2019 and 2020. While on the board, Shad served on the Focusing Forward Core Team and Technology Team, the Convention Planning Team, Interim CEO and Consultant Interview Teams, as well as the HUG (Help Unity Grow) Team.
Celia handles accounts receivable and human resources support. She also organizes office processes to create efficiencies and solutions.
Data and Development Coordinator
Diana (ordained with Unity in 2013) is passionate about supporting Unity in shining its light in the world. Diana's work supports donor engagement, grants and the UWM database. She coordinates the award process for the Templeton Audio Video Grant and maintains an online training library for grant recipients. Diana is a member of the Technology Strategies Team, the Focusing Forward Task Team, the Health and Wholeness Team and the Admissions Team. She is also a member of the Unity Arts Ministry leadership team, which offers an annual Creative Renewal Retreat and other programming throughout the year.
Member Services Coordinator
Carrie, an ordained Unity minister (2009) and licensed Unity teacher, coordinates all aspects of the employment process for credentialed leaders, spiritual leaders and ministries as well as providing support on questions regarding compensation, church governance and operations, (bylaws, ministry policies, code of ethics). She also provides assistance (USA including Puerto Rico, Canada only) to those who are interested in starting a new church or alternative ministry, or who want to know more about what support is available. Carrie works closely with a number of related ministry teams including Colleague Connect, Ministry Consulting and Transition, Credentialing and Standards. Her focus is to create connections with and between ministers/spiritual leaders/ministries and Unity Worldwide Ministries’ central office.
Learner Engagement Coordinator
Janet coordinates with the Director of Education regarding marketing and recruitment efforts for spiritual education programs for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute. She also provides guidance and support for those participating in Spiritual Explorers and Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) programs.
Claudia will provide support to all areas of Member Services with a primary focus on our Spanish-speaking members and worldwide services. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.
M&RS Student and Internship Facilitator
Rev. Ray Nelson is the M&RS (Ministerial & Religious Studies) Student Adviser and Internship Facilitator for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute (UWSI). Ray is a 2011 graduate of the Unity Institute and the vice president of the Great Lakes Region. Ray is also a faculty member with UWSI and a certified coach.
Lynn, ordained Unity minister (2003), works directly with applicants wishing to become credentialed as an ordained Unity minister, as well as the related ministry teams and liaisons with Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute, Unity Urban Ministerial School and the Field Licensing program. She also assists applicants in becoming a licensed Unity teacher and facilitates the Skills Demonstration Seminar program that each candidate must complete before licensing. She continues to support teachers after they are licensed, as well as supporting ministers and teachers to create healthy minister-teacher relationships within our spiritual communities.
Instructional Designer (consultant)
Pami Parker is assisting with the development of the online courses for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute.
Michael is an ordained Unity minister serving as receptionist at UWM.
Member Services Specialist
Diane has a broad skill set and dedication to Unity teachings. She assists the Member Services area including doing all background checks. She owns Natural Accents Lighting Design with her husband and has served in many capacities including accounting support, marketing, and web editing. Diane attends Unity Temple on the Plaza, Kansas City, Mo.
Learning Management System Administrator (contractor)
Scott provides consultation on strategic and effective use of the Blackboard Learning Management System for UWSI, maintaining and updating the Blackboard Learning Management System, and troubleshooting system issues.
Connie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of Unity Worldwide Ministries’ central office. She supervises administrative, finance, technology, human resources, and operational staff, and is a liaison to our contract CFO firm.

Lisa supports Director of Education Deborah Frownfelter and the Education department.
Bernadette, licensed Unity teacher (2006), writes, edits, and publishes Unity Worldwide Ministries' publications, including The Path, Special Communications, Updates from the UWM Board, brochures, and the website. She also oversees social media and the Unity Branding Program.

Rev. Diane Venzera works with the Member Services area as the Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator (DianeV@unity.org). Director of Member Services
Rev. Cynthia was ordained in 1997. As Director of Member Services she oversees all services supporting our members. This includes employment services, the development of new ministries, embracing new forms of ministry, consulting and transitional services, credentialing services for ministers and LUTs, youth and family ministry, conflict transformation, Spanish-speaking services, international services, and questions about ministry governance, administration and finances.
