Lue passionately manages our marketing and communication needs by drawing upon his vast array of past experiences. Lue’s education includes a degree in Black studies and community management, and training in online marketing. His professional experience includes leadership positions with several local Fortune 500 companies. In his spare time, Lue enjoys helping others with promotional consulting and lifestyle branding.
Denise provides administrative support for the ministry paths and LUT credentialing process.
She communicates with applicants as they navigate from application preparation and submission through the final steps of licensing or ordination. This includes receiving and processing applications and supporting documentation, preparing review packets for credentialing teams, and coordinating and scheduling events. Denise prepares and organizes files and prepares licensing and ordination certificates for the newly credentialed leaders. Denise brings 40 years of business and office management working in finance and public education.
Cathy works with and oversees each department as well as manages the day-to-day functions of UWM. She works closely with the executive director to ensure the organization is healthy, efficient, relevant, and focused on its purpose of serving Unity leadership and ministries.
Julie is contracted as our IYOU Event Agent, focusing on the annual IYOU (International Youth of Unity) Event held each summer for our teens. She has served as a YOU sponsor for 20 years at Unity Northwest Church, Des Plaines, Ill., and at Unity in Chicago, Ill. Her experiences include working closely with YOUers in planning and organizing many YOU retreats, where she encourages and supports the teens in developing their leadership skills. She has served as a Head Sponsor at more than 25 international, regional, and sub-regional YOU events, rallies, and retreats.
Rev Doug is an ordained Unity minister and supports our movement by providing oversight of key areas connected to ministry leadership development including; consultant education & certification, conflict transformation, visioning/planning, field employment readiness and ethics. Each area is to develop and equip healthy community connections based in Unity principles.
His vulnerability-based style of leadership has equipped teams and organizations for more than 25 years as they navigate the facets of healthy organizational change, transition and innovative leadership development. He is a Certified Transition Specialist, author, and is Dare to Lead ™ trained from Brené Brown. He is also a faculty member for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute. Rev. Doug represents Unity on the Board of Directors for the Interim Ministry Network, an organization dedicated to "strengthen the spiritual and organizational health of faith communities by equipping and supporting those who lead during times of transition."
Rev. Deborah provides vision, leadership, planning, and administration of education programs and services provided by Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute. She also supports Unity National Schools.
Deborah is an ordained Unity minister (2006) and licensed Unity teacher with over 40 years experience in various forms of education and management including teaching in public schools, college, Unity SEE and ministerial programs, youth and family education, and business and professional settings. Throughout her career she has engaged in educational research, particularly focused on innovative teaching methods including brain-friendly teaching and learning, methods she has shared with Unity leaders.

In this part-time position, Rachel assists the registrar of Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute with data entry regarding courses, grades, and correspondence, including assisting students with user names and passwords. Rachel was born and raised in Unity, as the daughter of Unity minister and teacher Rev. Dr. James Gaither. She has served in various positions over the years with Unity since 2001, with over 20 years of administrative experience. As a musician, she also maintains her own music teaching studio, and her teaching experience of 20+ years lends its own unique talents to UWSI’s customer service experience.
Suzi processes accounts payable and maintains primary responsibility for the general ledger and monthly closing process.
Dana ensures the smooth day-to-day support operations of Unity Worldwide Ministries' central office. She is responsible for supervising administrative, finance, technology, and operational staff, and is the liaison to our contract CFO/HR firm.
Rev. Shad Groverland was born and raised in Unity, learning Unity’s principles from his parents Rev. Jack and Norma Groverland. His first passion was music production, which led him to a 25-year career in sound production and management. He was then called to ministry, graduated from the Unity Urban Ministerial School, and was ordained in 2016. He served Unity of Las Vegas, Nevada, for five years before returning home to Unity of Boulder, Colorado, to co-minister with his sister, Syntysche, and father, Jack.
Rev. Shad’s Unity experience is vast and long-term. He has served as youth director, board trustee, youth camp counselor, youth and family team leader, and NGU (Next Generation Unity) minister advisor. In 2018, he was appointed to the UWM Board of Trustees, and the convention body confirmed the appointment in 2019. He was elected secretary of the Board in 2019 and 2020. While on the board, Shad served on the Focusing Forward Core Team and Technology Team, the Convention Planning Team, Interim CEO and Consultant Interview Teams, as well as the HUG (Help Unity Grow) Team.
Member Services Assistant
Christina supports our ministers and ministries in the field employment process and provides administrative support for the many services offered by Member Services. She has great communication and organizational skills, with a knack for simplifying complex processes and creating grace, ease, and efficiency.
Celia provides administrative support and oversees office facilities. She also provides accounting support and acts as staff liaison on a number of special program committees.
Indira supports Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute's students and faculty in both the SEE and Ministerial & Religious Studies programs. She supports student's enrolling in UWSI, registering them for courses, providing transcripts and graduation documents. Indira assists instructors (online and in the field) with registering their classes, collecting grades, etc.
Rev. Diana (ordained in 2013) has been in Unity since 1991, began at Unity of Tallahassee as a congregant, and eventually joined staff in 2003. Diana's interests include philanthropy, leadership development, and applying the wisdom of Spiral Dynamics. Diana's work focuses on donor engagement, grant writing, fund development, and "Care and Connection" outreach to Unity ministries and leaders. She also manages the Templeton Audio Video Grant and maintains an online training library for grant recipients. She is passionate about supporting our ministries in sharing the Unity message with the world. Diana is a member of UWM's Credentialing Team, Integral Christianity Team, and the Staff Culture Committee.
Spiritual Direction Program Coordinator
As part-time Spiritual Direction Program Coordinator, Joni works on promoting the program, enrolling and advising students, hiring and coordinating faculty and mentors, and program administration. She is a real asset as we start our Unity Spiritual Direction program in the fall of 2021.
Claudia is the connection point for our Spanish-Speaking members, both in the US and internationally. She apprises them of UWM resources and practices, translates communications and UWM resources, and manages our Spanish webpage. Claudia also provides administrative support for our international services. A professionally-trained translator with extensive experience, Claudia brings excellence and quality to this work.
Rev. Ray supports Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute ministerial students as advisor, internship facilitator, and faculty member. Ray is a 2011 graduate of Unity Institute and a 2008 graduate of United Theological Seminary with a concentration in pastoral care, grief, and loss. Rev. Ray is the part-time spiritual leader for Unity in the Heart of the Twin Cities located in St Paul, Minnesota.
Rev. Lynn is and ordained Unity minister who oversees UWM’s credentialing process for ministers and licensed Unity teachers. She works directly with applicants interested in becoming an ordained Unity ministerr, and liaisons with Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute, Unity Urban Ministerial School and the Field Ministerial Program. She also assists applicants in becoming a licensed Unity teacher and facilitates the Skills Demonstration Seminar program that each candidate must complete before licensing. Lynn also trains and coordinates the work done by our Credentialing teams. Lynn is also a licensed Unity teacher and served on the L & O Team and Education Services Team prior to being hired by UWM.
Pami Parker is assisting with the development of the online courses for Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute.
As project leader, Joy brings with her a beautiful combination of business expertise and spiritual devotion. She is a dedicated leader for projects across all business units at Unity Worldwide Ministries. As the webinar production assistant, Joy assists with the production of our webinars by managing the behind the scenes details, as well as serving as a webinar moderator. Joy holds an M.A. in business management from Webster University and a B.A. in psychology from the University of Missouri. Joy is also certified as a Martha Beck Life Coach and as a Q Effect Coach.
Rev. Michael supports our movement by fostering high-touch communications and ensuring quality service. Over the years he has served his deep spiritual calling as a founding board member of two New Thought churches, a certified chaplain, a licensed Religious Science Practitioner, and as a Unity minister in the field. Rev. Michael utilizes his prior entrepreneurial business expertise from the financial and jewelry industries in his servant leadership role today.
James oversees technology and helps drive solutions that are innovative and cutting-edge. James has over 20 years of IT experience, including managing and deploying cloud technologies, project management, training, upgrades, and design.
Scott provides consultation on strategic and effective use of the Blackboard Learning Management System for UWSI, maintaining and updating the Blackboard Learning Management System, and troubleshooting system issues.
Bernadette, licensed Unity teacher (2006), writes, edits, and publishes Unity Worldwide Ministries' publications, including The Path, Special Communications, Updates from the UWM Board, brochures, and the website. She also oversees social media and the Unity Branding Program.
Rev. Diane provides leadership over the planning execution of our online trainings, virtual events, and digital resources. In order to keep our offerings fresh, relevant, and cutting edge, she keeps abreast of national trends and best practices related to distance and online education. She is also responsible for the continued growth and develop of youth and family ministry (YFM) programs. Diane holds a master's degree in education focusing on instruction design and technology and is a Certified Spiritual Educator who has over 25 years of experiencing working in YFM programs.
Rev Cynthia is an ordained Unity minister who oversees the Member Service Team. Cynthia and the Member Services Team are committed to cultivating relationships with our members and teaming with them in the creation of healthy, vibrant, and innovative approaches to ministry. Key areas of Member Services are: ministry development, the evolution of new ministries, care and connection with our members, credentialing, international ministries, and Spanish-speaking services.
Rev. Cynthia is a recipient of the Myrtle Fillmore Award. She served as Regional Representative for Canada and chair of UWM’s Ethics Review System. She has extensive experience consulting with ministries, is a Certified Transitional Specialist and has been trained as a Peace Ambassador by James O’Dea. Cynthia holds a B.A. in psychology.
Rev. Glenda Walden is part of the Member Services team and serves as our part-time Evolving Ministry Coordinator (effective August 16, 2021). She supports the growth and development of new ministries and the exploration of new and creative ways to engage ministry for the future.
As the eLearning Technologist, Paul ensures the quality production of our webinars and trainings, assists with virtual events, and provides video editing and graphic design support. Paul’s experience includes online game design, video editing, graphic design, as well as technical expertise.
